Wireline pressure setting tools are offered in two configurations: single-stage and multi-stage models. Single-stage variants generate dynamic force, which is utilized for setting downhole equipment such as bridge plugs, production packers, and cement retainers.
Multi-stage setting tools are engineered with an extended stroke length, making them suitable for deploying casing patches, long-travel bridge plugs, and any tools that demand a greater stroke and tension than what standard pressure setting tools can provide. The operational force is generated by the controlled, gradual combustion of a high-temperature power charge, which produces high-pressure gas contained by a top piston sealed with an O-ring. This piston then delivers the required stroke and tension to set the target equipment and disengage from it upon completion of the setting process.
