Safety Impact Mechanical Firing Head (Drop Bar Pressure-activated)

Safety Impact Mechanical Firing Head (Drop Bar Pressure-activated)

Description

A drop bar makes contact with a release rod, shearing the retaining pin that secures it; this allows the rod to displace downward. The rod’s movement unlocks the firing piston, which is then driven toward the percussion initiator by hydrostatic pressure. The firing pin at the piston’s tip strikes the initiator, initiating the detonation of the gun assembly. As a built-in safety mechanism, the firing piston must be subjected to a minimum level of hydrostatic pressure at the moment of drop bar impact for the device to function.

Features

• The device has a 4140 steel body and Viton-70 durometer O-rings; the drop bar pressure-activated assembly can be ordered separately.
