Hydraulic Delay Firing System
Description
Mounted to the upper end of the perforating gun to trigger detonation, this device activates when tubing pressure reaches a preset threshold: the shear pins fracture, driving the piston upward and forcing hydraulic cylinder oil into the bottom plug. Its limit assembly ensures a set delay period elapses before the steel ball and firing pin are unlocked; the firing pin then actuates the detonator, which in turn initiates the booster assembly and perforating gun.
