Ideal for rigless permanent completion perforating operations that require redundant firing systems, the Dual Top Firing Head integrates two fully independent mechanisms—Drop Bar Hydrostatic and Direct Pressure Firing Heads—within a single unified assembly. Operational protocols for the system are dictated by the selection of its primary firing mechanism; pressure-activated firing heads are typically favored as the primary option. If the primary pressure-activated unit fails to trigger a perforation, the secondary mechanically activated firing head can be deployed as a backup, preventing potential formation damage that might otherwise arise from unnecessary wellbore pressurization in cases where the primary system has already successfully perforated the target zone.
